Dezeen promotion: modern design meets function in our latest competition, where Dezeen has partnered with Danish furniture brand Fritz Hansen to give away a shelving unit from its Planner collection.

Originally designed by Paul McCobb in the 1950s and recently reissued by Fritz Hansen, the Planner shelving displays the late American industrial-designer's characteristic functional, mid-century style. The shelving unit is made from oak wood and powder-coated steel and is available in three heights of 84, 123, and 165 centimetres – each with different shelving configurations. One reader will win a Planner shelving unit from the collection in the size of their choice. Durable powder-coated steel rods in a matte finish are welded and joined by hand to comprise the shelving's structure. Corners are gently rounded to "soften the overall expression",...
